Brown Swiss are recognised for their strong feet and legs, their quiet temperament and longevity. Brown Swiss milk has a close fat to protein ratio making it ideal milk for cheese makers. Brown Swiss boast a low somatic cell count, contributing to a life span longer than most other dairy breeds.
The Brown Swiss cattle population is one of the largest throughout the world. It is a global breed whose heat tolerance, strength, foraging ability and residual value is now being embraced widely by Australian Dairy Farmers who are using genetics from around the world.
